Erin Wright, 1977-2004
After a sudden illness this year, one of our most talented students, Erin Wright, passed away on June 21. She will be remembered by her passion for children, her artistic talent, and her commitment to protecting the environment. She will be missed by many.
Erin’s commitment to the environment let her to volunteer with innovative programs such as Rocking the Boat and the Clearwater. Rocking the Boat brings young people from urban neighborhoods in the Bronx closer to the natural world. Erin participated in boat building and sailing on the Hudson with the students, as well as painting the murals that still remain at their headquarters.
As a tribute to Erin’s exceptional talent, dedication and compassion, Erin’s family and friends ask that you consider making a gift to the Erin Wright Memorial Scholarship Fund. The family would like to see Erin’s legacy continue by acknowledging other young people who have the gift that Erin had. Please join us in keeping Erin’s memory alive while making a difference in the lives of artistically talented students at New Paltz.
